It was FUN!

Post by Charlene »

Remember I said I was headed up to Duncan in British Columbia, Canada, to see this?

It was fantastic! I got to see Will Millar's paintings and listened to some wonderful music, and even met Sandy Jasper of Elf Song Whistles (and thanks again Sandy!). And I was able to talk with Will a bit! :D

I was going to post a couple of photos here but they didn't show up as good on here as I would like, so you'll get a better view if you visit my web site: http://home.att.net/~charlene.emerson/scrpbk2000.html - the pictures are way down at the bottom of the page.

The paintings will be on display until April 16. They are selling fast! If you can possibly get there, it's worth seeing. If you can't get there in person, you can see some of the paintings at Will's web site http://celtic-music.com/art_by_will_millar.php

And there's a story about it at http://www.bclocalnews.com/vancouver_is ... 99066.html

For me, it was well worth driving 400 miles one way on my days off. Even with snow on the pass. I just wish I had had more time to stay in the area.

I have no use for the Irish Rovers (Clancy Bros. wannabes) but Duncan and area is very nice. I would certainly like to get back out to Vancouver Island again.

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

djm- If it hadn't have been for the Irish Rovers, I never would have stumbled across this kind of music. I always have enjoyed their concerts and I always will. But I promise never to come drag you kicking and screaming to one! Shall we agree to disagree on this and not argue about it? :)

IB- I had a couple of glasses of wine at the gallery and it was good. Stuck to the veggie tray as far as the snacks went. Then I had supper over at the pub where Chuck McCandless was playing and had a glass of ale there, and then later Will bought me another glass of ale - and I still managed to drive home just fine the next day! I think all the excitement of going there burned off the alcohol, because I usually don't have that much to drink in a whole month, let alone one evening.

Tyler - Ok, ok - pictures. But don't yell at me if they take forever to download - I know how to shrink them for my web page but not how to make them smaller on here.

I do apologize to you folks on dial-up - I feel your pain! Go have a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage while you wait for these to load. :D

Sounds like a blast.

You can shrink the pictures before posting and they'll be smaller. You can do it in MS Paint for that matter.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm
