It is cool enough that stews, casseroles, and bread baking sound appealing.
Savory cobblers would also be a nice treat.
Creamy chowder (corn, potato, or clam) served with either a quick bread or rolls also sounds good.
We are invited to go to a friends house to night. I have no Idea what we are having.

I hate being in charge of dinner.
We are probably going to give the stick-in-the-mud, stay at home kid mac and cheese, then the other 3 of us will grab a burrito at Salsarita's before our 6:30 Baltimore Hippodrome play.
Ask again later. 1 out of 5 times you would find that I actually had a dinner idea.

Tonight is bean tostadas. Home-cooked black beans, with onion, chiles, cumin, bouillon, garlic, and some herbs, all whipped up with a hand blender. Topped with shredded lettuce, tomato, homemade salsa, and yogurt (instead of sour cream).
Last night was orange pork chops. Seared then slow cooked with a sauce of orange juice, onion, orange zest, red pepper flakes, bouillon, and some white vinegar. Served over noodles.

Honey-mustard is a great idea.dwest wrote:That goes great with some honey mustard in the sauce too! One of my wife's favorites! Gosh! My wife has some leftovers soup in the crock pot now, too. Great minds think alike.
