I opened this thread with the intention of listing Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol - but you beat me to it. :) I haven't seen it in a few years; I don't know if it still runs on cable. If not, then it's a shame.
We all need "razzelberry dressing" for Christmas.

I remember watching this when it first came out and I've loved it ever since.

Inspite of it being cycled over and over and over, I still must say that Christmas Story is my favorite. The house, decorations, school, and department store- it's like a trip back to my younger days. When our girls were young it became a tradition to watch this on Christmas eve, before turning in for the night.
I've long been a fan of Jean Shepherd's writing and this is the ultimate.

Another favorite of mine is Rudolph, mostly because I watched it's first run with my grandma who died the following Feb.

It seems that most of my favorites are linked to my childhood....I guess that's fitting.

Yes, that and the Three Camels doing We Three Kings ... priceless!

Oh, and I do love A Christmas Story, as well as It's a Wonderful Life. Santa Conquers the Martians has finally found the trash here... there are just so many times you can suffer... I mean... watch that one!... "Hooray for Santy Claus!" (shudder)

Oh! and the old Garfield's Christmas Special!

I managed to copy a VCR of that special. It's one of our favorites.

It's also one of the reason I don't play "Carol of the Bells" in church anymore (on the hammered dulcimer) because my kids are always sitting in the pews "hitting" their heads!

 That is just too funny. Did they ever realize that you played the tune harder when you were angry with them?

"bad santa."

my wife's family was never allowed to watch "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" because my mil thought the island of misfit toys was total discrimination against toys with disabilities. every one of my in-laws is a social worker or married to a social worker.

I forgot to mention that Santa Claus Conquers The Martians features a VERY young (like, 8!) Pia Zadora. Despite being green, she was very cute.

Tonight Charlene and I are going to a Rudolph The Rednosed Raindeer party hosted by some of my OR coworkers. Everyone is required to wear antlers. We'll eat pizza, consume liquid refreshment and watch the movie. I suspect that Rudolph will not be the only one with a red nose by the time the night is over... :D

And who could forget "Bad Santa?" Where a total and absolute cultural misfit...who, against all odds (legal and ecclesiastical) comes through, in the end, for the semi-orphaned lad.

Not, of course, for the squeamish. It's trashy to the max. But if the core message of Christmas is "GIVING," then we gots us a winner.

Forgot it's a christmas film but I watched Gremlins yesterday and it's brilliant. For that matter Gremlins 2 and Die Hard would also fit.

Yippee Kay-Yay
And Merry Christmas!

I always like the Christmas episode of "Scrubbs" from, I believe, Season Two that opened with the guy from "Men at Work."

And as someone who is directing the Christmas program this year - "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is cool.

Blessings
