The first Christmas tune of the year was played last night at the local session. I hope it doesn't take over like it did last year. Ugh.

Nano, old chap, any chance of advising this internet dobbin how you get such a nice reproduction of notation so seamlessly into your message like that?

Just so. I put the cursor over the image, did the right-click-properties-highlight-address-from-right-to-left-Ctrl-C- routine, and Bob's yer uncle. FWIW, I play TPITMS a bit differently; comes off very much like "Deck the Halls" however you cut it. Quite the Xmas holiday cliché opportunity. :)

Bensdad, I don't know what got into you, but please share some of it.

Well so it does! I can see the chopper lowering a basket as we speak, and Mr. Tambourine Man waving at me to climb on in. I think I had a dream like that once. Thanks, guys.

BTW, thesession.org has no category for set dances (the step-dancing kind, not the dance sets). This one was under "hornpipes". No matter.

I always idly wondered if the Irish stole it from the Welsh or vice-versa.

I sat down with my D pipes and my fiddler daughter and played through a bunch of Christmas carols the other night. I love those old songs.

At work I played Elvis Costello's "St Stephen's Day Murders" to the Office off the iTunes on my laptop. They liked that one. (there were only six of us in the office today.)
