Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!
I like it. We finally have a political slogan (albeit, slightly
borrowed from Harrison's campaign), and a bandwagon that any true red,
white and blue American would be proud to support. I also say, "Y'er
either with us, or y'er a'gin us!" (Better than being a Bud, don't you
think?)

I predict the Pooh will be especially strong with the NRA crowd; afterall,
he takes his 2nd Amendment rights very seriously (for all of you
foreigners that's the part of our constitution that gives our citizens the
right to arm bears.)

Which amendment to the Constitution allows an English bear to run for president? I'm sure Arnie would like to know about it.

It may be an English bear, but its name, Winnie (diminutive of Winnipeg), is from Canada. :D

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

So...you're either a cell phone, or beer. I don't get it.

You don't notice it's Walt Disney's version and not the (in my opinion superior) original English Pooh? :D

I share your opinion. Ernest Shepard, I believe, was the artist.

Yep. The original pooh is much better than the "disneified pooh". My granddaughter would disagree....

I must say though that Sterling Holloway is THE voice of that Pooh-Bear.

Precisely...although I don't know how the cell phone got in there. "Not
getting it" was the whole purpose of the slogan when it was used a
hundred or so years ago in Ireland (my botching part of it only helps the
confussion too, I'm sure). In Ireland, when expressing your feelings
about Irish solidarity and a free republic would get you tossed in a prison
cell, many things were communicated in "code". Like I said, I can't
remember the exact slogan but it's supposed to sound like you're
commenting on your preference in drink.

Although not bears (literally, anyway), George Washington and several of
his earlier successors were not born in this country either. The United
States didn't exist at the time of their births. Would they not have been considered "English" when they were born?

Tell us something.: This is the first sentence. This is the second of the recommended sentences intended to thwart spam its. This is a third, bonus sentence!

Well, my support is behind Independent candidate Daniel Bingamon. He's not swayed by special interests. His only special interest is doing the right thing!
