Ok, I'm done. I can stop obsessing and go back to my regularly scheduled procrastinating.

ARRRRGGGG!!!! I'm not yet. I'm not even half way through, which is very unlike me. It's driving me absolutely battier than I already am ;) The part I hate is trying to figure it all out as you go...something comes up that makes you say "hmmmmm...." and then your mind goes all a-flurry with "I wonder"s and then the inevitable "aHA! I've got it!"s only to go end up with a "oops...guess I don't" and then back to the old drawing board.

Off to bed for me. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to find the darn thing quickly in the morning before anyone else does.

The bf and I went to a 9:15 showing of Order of the Phoenix on Friday night, which just so happen to end at 11:45, and there just so happens to be a Wal-Mart on our way home, so we stopped by to check things out for the heck of it. Ten minutes after midnight we were happily waltzing out of Wal-Mart with a book for each of us. :)

I couldn't put it down! That is the fastest I have ever finished a book that large, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm going to have to read it again, though, since I read it so fast I'm sure I missed something. I laughed, I cried (lots of crying), I shouted for joy....It was wonderful.

Wife was reading daughter's copy while she was having a sleepover. Daughter threw a hissy-fit when she came back and collared that copy. Wife went off and bought another one. Daughter has now finished her copy and kindly passed it on to me.

(Whew!)

This one is quite fast-moving. Action from page one. Narrative explanations are built into the action, or simply ignored. Yes, good fun.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Finished it a couple nights ago. Would have prefered to take my time, but didn't want to hear any details from anyone else...besides, my wife was dying to talk about it. :)

All in all, a satisfying read. I liked some of the most unlikely characters emerging as major heroes. I liked the theme of redemption, in at least three instances, of people who had seriously screwed up being given the chance to put things right before all was said and done. Good stuff.

Favorite character (by far): Neville. What a guy.

I found the last chapter mildly disappointing. Maybe it was just the drastic change of pace. Maybe it had something to do with it being after 1 am when I finally finished it. :boggle:

Going (only a wee bit) off topic....just been to see "Order of the Phoenix", and Lucius Malfoy looks seriously fanciable! All that gorgeous long blond hair, and those fantastic clothes....sigh!

...I'm going before you all start to think I'm really weird!......................

Far too late for that, my dear. Remember, we've already seen you dressed in your Sunday best.
