I spy a Generation, Sweetheart, a Clarke original D?, another black one that I can't make out along with a low whistle of some sort (I can't tell the difference between Chieftain, Overton, Kerry, etc.).
EDIT: I will post a pic of mine when the ones I have on order come in.

Overton, of coarse ------------as far as a fan of Susato i have had them for well over ten years, and rarely use them -not that they are bad , they work quit well but are very loud, also plastic -i mainly use my clarke and sweetheart--------------and of coarse the overton--------i had a 'grip" of overtons but sold them recently because frankly i never used them-but the low d stays -i used to be a WHOA addict and seemed to feel the need to have all Keys at my disposal-the susatos are a remnant of thatSteamwalker wrote:I spy a Generation, Sweetheart, a Clarke original D?, another black one that I can't make out along with a low whistle of some sort (I can't tell the difference between Chieftain, Overton, Kerry, etc.).

It's an Overton. You can tell by the mouthpiece which is flattened on both sides instead of round.Steamwalker wrote:I can't tell the difference between Chieftain, Overton, Kerry, etc..
I swear by the Overton low whistle. It's sound is beautiful. The high whistle as well by the way (played by Flook). I myself have Impempe high whistles (3), which are beautifully made as well, well sounding and very well priced ($40,-)

You seem to have some harps too. Do you play them too, what styles? I've been tripping to harps too recently, both diatonic and chromatic. It's nice to have more weapons on your arsenal. On some songs the harp sounds better and on some whistles are superior. And it's definitely easier to play a harp while driving but if I have to wait for something/somebody in my car I usually reach for some of my "car whistles".cavefish wrote:meLyn D wrote:Hi everyone,

maybe i'm just being silly, but i think it's awesome that inexpensive, self-made, high-end, and other types of whistles can all be shown sitting together in a person's collection. it's nice to know as a relative newbie with two (and a half) inexpensive whistles to my name that even the really talented people don't give up their cheapies, and a good arsenal is made up of all kinds of whistles.
when i have a bigger pile o'whistles maybe i'll post mine.

Oh, it works quite nice. The tone is a bit dull (which should be cureable with a bath in fresh oil), but it plays quite good with a nice hard D. The Reviol's more seasoned though, especially regarding fune tuning (which is spot-on on the Reviol and a bit dodgy on the selfmade). But I still enjoy my selfmade one.Scott McCallister wrote:The flute you made looks really nice! How does it play?
