I got this one in 2005. It was sent to me by mistake; i had ordered a different CD but this is the one i got. I listened to it and liked it so much i never sent it back.
It is a good CD. Have you heard Teada? They are the band that Oisin plays with.

Both are Smithsonian Folkways recordings.
I'd like to get both of those.

I just ordered three mountain dulcimer CDs from Amazon. After I listen to them I'll decide if I like them.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Ah, so I'm not the only one who likes this. Not recent for me though.

Like several others, I rarely buy one or two but might go a couple of months or more without buying any. I tend to buy online or in Sydney so I make the most of it when I do buy.

It's about a month since I bought any CDs but I bought about 10 then. Mainly jazz, some replacing old vinyl and some box sets just completing what I want of favourite artists at peak periods: Monk, Sonny Rollins Eric Dolphy and Bud Powell, for example. Here are some CDs new to me:

Andrew Hill: Dusk. Everything he's recorded in over 40 years is very good to brilliant but this is brillianter than most. Quirky like Monk but much more subtle. Great pianist and great writer and here he has a great band to interpret his work.
Bob Pegg: Keeper of the Fire. Not as good as his records with his ex-wife Carole, especially in Mr. Fox, but pleasant enough. A good source of non-Irish whistle music for those who are on the lookout for it.
Rosa Ponselle: American Recordings, 1923-1929, vol.1. My favourite operatic soprano by a long way. Also Maria Callas's favourite.
Caravan: In the Land of Grey and Pink. One of their best.
Jimmy Smith: Groovin' At Small's Paradise. The best Jimmy Smith record I've heard. Great B3 groove throughout and consistently exciting. Double live CD, from the early days before he got formulaic. More accurately, from before the formula began to wear thin and the licks lose their excitement.

Peter Laban & Kitty Hayes: They'll Be Good Yet
Flook: Rubai

My two favorites as well as the two most recent.

Chieftains: Down the Old Plank Road
Micho Russell: Ireland's Whistling Ambassador

...filling in some gaps in the collection. Both great stuff!

Here is one more for you Cranberry!

Antony and the Johnsons "I Am A Bird Now"

This is the last CD I bought. It is different, and every track is brilliant on it's own,
but the entire CD is almost too much for me. Still love it. It is strange, I know.
I just cant help myself

As I only named one CD above I felt I was entitled for one more post in this thread.

Just got this yesterday and I like it very much :)

Definitely not the only one! One of the biggest breakthrough albums of the last couple of years.

Well deserved though as it's an absolutely stunning piece of work. Haven't heard their new album, Neon Bible, yet so I dunno if they've manged a successful follow up.
