Listen to your vet and listen to Pangy. They'll both let you know when it's time. Until then, do everything you can for Pangy. When it was time to send our 18 year old cat ahead to the Rainbow Bridge, we knew it was the right time; neither too soon or too late. My thoughts are with all of you.

A bad sitch for sure. I lost my dearest cat to that 2 years ago this week. I hope you find peace with whatever decision you make. Poor dear pooch. Poor dear pooch lovers.

FWIW, I find mine still visits from time to time.

The Doggie Update

Post by Flyingcursor »

Well everything came out OK. He's back home. They didn't have to do surgery. We have to keep him on a high fibre diet since his colon is a bit misshapen but otherwise he's a happy puppy.

Thanks for all your concern.

Good reason to tie one on if I ever heard one.

I sure am glad he did not have to go to surgery.

Wonderful news!!!!!

Yaaaay!!!! That's good news, Fly! I'm delighted to hear Pangy is home!

And why doesn't pet cuisine come with enough fiber, anyway? Hmm? Grrr.

Good to hear the happy ending; I have occasional moments of terror thinking of the day that Casper

<< Casper

gets to the end of his life. He's about to turn seven and in perfect health, but it still gives me chills thinking about it. We're very close.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

The Power of the Dog

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But ... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-term loan is as bad as a long--
So why in--Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

Great news! Just be sure to keep a very close eye on Pangy and his bowel habits from now on.
