Here's one of my favorites by Michelle Shocked.
Off her Arkansas Traveller CD.

It makes me cry. Which isn't unusual since everything makes me cry.
For a burly bearish guy I sure am sentimental.

Very nice.

I was quite content until about 2:58 when I got a quick glimpse of Eagle Rock.

I lived there in my boyhood.

Another burly beard with a tear in his eye.

Loved and thought himself beloved,

As soon as I saw the title I had to get away , fast or I'd have had that going around in my head for who knows how long. :P

This is the Zevon tune that I love-

But I've gotta throw this one in- one of my favorite "feel good" tunes
(another bow to Zevon)

Nice version for sure. Kinda weird about the laptop though...

Speaking about getting old, Callas was past her best here but even then, without the benefit of high tech recording gear, she still stands way above the rest of the pack.

Probably the greatest Soprano ever.

You didn't really think it was all about that anyway, did you? :P Not that I care. If Peter, Paul and Mary want to sing about such things, so be it. It still makes a good tune ;)

Too much good stuff to comment on individually. I'm glad I was an inspiration.
