Still think there's something funny about the whistles in Peter's post of 22 Jan. Unless he took the photies himself and did funny things with the lighting to wind us all up. No, he'd never do that.

As I understand it, the new whistle will be called the "Star Trek".

You know, Star Trek "the Next Generation". :D

There's still juice in this here thread!

I'd like to speculate on the Management Buy-Out (MBO) that occured at the Gen factory last year.

To my thinking - it's nice to see the "Generational" committment shown by the Brown family culminating in the ultimate ownership of Generation Music. It explains the steadfast maintenance of a musical tradition at the grass-roots level. The arabesque and arcane nature of the instrument should be no surprise - these things naturally attract mystique and moment with each Generation. It's almost like a semantic god form is struggling to break out into our continuum, and may have already done so!

This is significant somehow - not sure how ...
All the best!

How can a whistle ever represent disenchantment, nihilism, cynicism, or distrust of traditional values? Maybe I should attempt some Nirvana tunes on my Generation :)

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

And you have to gaze at your shoes while you play.
