Yes...it's a "spectacle," not a concert. Risk-taking might make things, oh, I dunno, interesting? Alive? Can't have that. Heck, I can't wait until all the music is pieced together digitally so it can be really perfect, and then it can be danced by 3D animated dancers who are PERFECTLY in synch! Wouldn't that be great? You could even make up steps that would be impossible for real people. Then maybe run it at double speed to make it really impressive.Blackwood wrote:I think there are obviously practical matters of managing a show like this, one is miking to get consistent performance and sound quality, so i would think that they have to pre-record the tap track.
I would also think you would want to minimize risk here of things going wrong. With a wireless mike set-up with that much movement plus throwing your flute around sounds like a lot of risk to me...so i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this was pre-recorded...
I thought they looked great too! Well, except for the cheesy posturing, flinging the hair about, the plastic smiles, and all that, which pretty much ruins it. OK, sarcasm off: I actually think it's quite likely they are fine, intelligent, sensitive ladies who are doing this because of their love for music and dance, and are putting up with the "glitz" temporarily for the opportunity and money. I have no problem with that.Whistlin'Dixie wrote:And I think the fiddle ladies are GREAT!!!!!! If I looked that good in a leather suit, I'd wear one all the time, are you kiddin' me?!?!?!?
