O'Briain chanter for trade...
O'Briain chanter for trade...
Hi,
I would like to trade my O'briain D chanter (2 keys) for a Froment D chanter in perfect condition (with the rush inside of course ! ).
My O'Briain chanter was made few years ago, is in very good condition and I have made a gorgeous reed for it.
If anyone is interested or know somebody who is interested please send me a pm.
Thank you

Is a very good condition O'brian 2 key chanter equal in value to a perfect condition Froment?
Should the Froment be keyless?
Re: O'Briain chanter for trade...
O'briain's chanters are more expensive than Froment's chanters.Tony wrote: I'm curious.

In my opinion both are very good instruments... I have made reeds for each chanters but to justify my choice:
1) O'Briain:
- very well in-tune (without rush)
- rich sound (the best chanter for sessions)
- comfortable (scalloped holes)
2) Froment:
- very well in-tune (with rush )
- sweet & precise sound (rowsome sound)
- more expressive with the "open fingering style"
It's only a tasteful question...
o´brien chanter
I would like to know if you have already sold the chanter, how much are you asking for it and if the chanter has open fingering style.
thanks

I beg your pardon ? Anyway, I think Poupounou wants to swap his chanter, not sell it.Noli wrote:I would like to know if you have already sold the chanter, how much are you asking for it and if the chanter has open fingering style.
