New Regulators

Post by GELivesay »

Just wanted to shout it out to the whole UP community that on last Friday I received my long awaited regulators. I am now the proud owner of a FULL Set made by Mr. Quinn and Mr. Koehler. For those of you that have seen my once half-set, you will truly be amazed at the transformation to the full-set. I will get some pics posted at a later time.

Thanks to David and Benedict for a great piece of artisty.

SE Florida Tionol

Post by GELivesay »

Joe, my plan is to come to the Tionol, if schedule permits. I have returned to school , night student in Atlanta, to become a pastry chef when I retire in Dec 2007. I should be able to come and get back into piping activities on a regular basis. I sure have missed seeing all my piping friends over the past year.
Anyway, I will be finished with school around Jan-Feb so should be able to come to sunny Gainsville.

New K&Q Regulators - New Full Set

Post by GELivesay »

Here are the pictures I took of my new K&Q Regulators. David Quinn did an outstanding job and Benedict did the reeding etc. They are great !!!
The bottom 2 pics are my original half-set circa 2001. Take a gander at my double-barreled intake on my mouse bellows, Mr. Quinn tried out a new theory/experiment with my set. Works fine but no significant improvment over conventional designs. I like it cause it is unique.

Got photo's from Pat Stones of my new Lefthanded rosewood D narrow bore chanter with boxwood and brass without the keys.

He still has to put the 4 brass keys on the chanter.

Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.
