Top Three

Post by SEAGULL »

I am trying to expand my piping musc collection.

What are the top three CD's in your cd player right now?

-or top three albums if your not into cds, or tapes if your not into vinyl, or eight track if you are a completely oblivous to the outside world because you have spent the last twenty years practicing in your closet because your neighbors don't think that pipes are a cool as you do...

Planxty - The Woman I Loved So Well

Seoltaí Seidté - Setting Sail - Forty-three Historic Recordings (2-disc set)

And a good old-fashioned 33 1/3 LP of Michael Coleman.

Well, even though there's not that much piping involved (although the one featured is very enjoyable), all my CDs are of Capercaillie.

Gordon Duncan (RIP); "The Circular Breath". AMAZING GHB playing with blistering versions of CraigsPipes, TheWoman Of TheHouse, TripTo Sligo, McFaddens Reel, as well as his own compositions and other things. Great for a different approach to tunes and piping.

Tommy Keane, Jacqueline McCarthy; "The Wind Among The Reeds". Lovely duet, concertina and pipes, essential IMHO.

Robbie Hannan; "Traditional Irish Music played on the Uilleann Pipes". Brilliant! Essential IMHO.
