Thanks Walden. I was thinking that she wasn't that--just a really spiteful mean type of person.
She got eaten by dogs.
A pack of Yorkshire terriers, wasn't it?

Yorkshire Terriers? In the Levant? Have you ever seen Desert Dogs? They are like a very efficient cross between Alstatians, Wolves, and Greyhounds. You wouldn't want to get eaten by them, even if they did leave the palms of your hands. Even today they wander through the cities, much like foxes do in cities in the UK.

When I wiz a we'an, they towd us that Jezabel was "a Painted Lady".
(That's a euphemism for the above.)

Walden, you have the weirdest hairstyle...

Y're dead right. I'd rather be eaten by almost any other breed you care to mention. There's nowt worse than getting eaten by the wrong kind of dog...

Sinclair is a good name, I think (it's also my last name).

Wasn't it George Castanza that had the idea to name his kid "Seven"? And his friends stole it, or something? It's been a while since I've seen that episode.
oh Lana Turner we love you get up

We call Alsatians German Shepherds, don't we? You could be right... I'd rather think it was Yorkshire terriers, though.

In the cities, here, it's coyotes that run around.

I would strongly urge ye all to check out the Golden Gate Jubilee Quartets version of Jezebel.

A truly wonderful mix of Gospel/Bible quotes/Human voices and a lot more.

Recorded way back before Rap was a glint in Gospels eye...

But the Jezebel quote brought up a nice name - Joram. I could handle that. Raspberry. With peanut butter. On toast. With butter, even.

The dogs in middle eastern towns are bred to be large. They make better eating that way (dog meat is a common human food in the middle east).

Absoultely. Friends of mine were working on contract in Saudi for a couple of years. Behind the "foreigners" compound, one family found a bitch who was very pregnant. They started feeding her scraps every day, and she hung around, not quite tame, but friendly.

Then one day the dog was no longer there. A few days later they mentioned this to some of the Arabs who lived in the "non-foreigners" housing near by. One of them told my friends that, yes, he and his family had had the dog for dinner. "But we were feeding that dog", cried my friends. The Arabs were very apologetic, and promised to invite my friends and their families over the next time they had dog for dinner.

If all else fails, you could always name him after the Welsh town Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. And remember, it only has 2 syllables.

I always favor names from the Illiad.

Paris
Hector
Ajax
Agamemmnon
Achilles
Priam
Diomedes (?)
etc.

Another good historical name is Sejanus. Sejanus was the head of Tiberius' hit squad.

Sulla
Marius
Cato
Cicero
Claw-claw-claudius
Caligula. (let him wear little jack-boots)
Gaius

Oh. Here's a great one: Onan. Of course you wouldn't want him to help plant flowers because he'd always spill the seeds.

Good grief, you're just wanting everyone to name their kids after you, aren't you?

Jessie, congratulations!!! I'm not as good at boy names (I have too many of them ;) ), but I am right up there with using names that aren't as common. Here are some I like:

Alexander (or if you want the Irish spelling, you can go with Alsandair)
Brendan
Ciaran (pronounced KEER-an)
Eamon
Finbar

I can come up with more later...right now my Eamon (the one named after Dub, since he has Mary in his name  ) is on my lap and wating to type too. I think he wants his breakfast ;)
Someday, everything is gonna be diff'rent
When I paint my masterpiece.
