Well, how about these?

Historians have concluded that Heisenberg must have been contemplating his love life when he discovered the Uncertainty Principle:
  • -When he had the time, he didn't have the energy -and-
-When the moment was right, he couldn't figure out the position...
And my favorite:
Heisenberg is stopped by a traffic cop who askes: "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Heisenberg replies: "No, but I know exactly where I am."

I hate to get religious (well maybe I don't) but this isn't actually very controversial. In my quote book I've saved a lot of quotes. The shortest one and one of the most powerful quotes I have, I think, is a brief sentence Jesus spoke in the gospel of Luke, particularly the way it's presented in "The Message" version Bible (translated by poet Eugene Peterson). Here is the quote:
Jesus wrote:Stinginess impoverishes.
It affects me in so many ways. Those two words remind me of the whole world and our whole current state of being. It's a great thought to think on.

C'mon, don't encourage him: that was a terrible joke. :x
Aw, c'mon. I stiffled the giggle which tried to pop out at the Socrates one...

Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.

That was scottielvr's signature line for a while and she attributed it to Dorothy Parker.

Another Dorothy Parker quote: Brevity is the soul of lingerie.

A few that I like...
G K Chesterton wrote:~"Women are the only realists; their whole object in life is to pit their realism against the extravagant, excessive, and occasionally drunken idealism of men"

~"A yawn is a silent shout"
And how can anyone forget the quotes of the infamous Yogi Berra?
Yogi Berra wrote:~"This is like deja vu all over again"

~"You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours"

~"You give 100 percent in the first half of the game, and if that isn't enough in the second half you give what's left."

~"You can observe a lot just by watchin'"

"The better the singer's voice is, the harder it is to believe what they're saying." David Byrne (of the Talking Heads).

"Mozart tells us what it's like to be human, Beethoven tells us what it's like to be Beethoven and Bach tells us what it's like to be the universe." My favorite quote of all time, as supplied by Douglas Adams.

"Hypocrite lecteur,— mon semblable,— mon frère!"
"Hypocrite reader,— my likeness,— my brother!" Charles Baudelaire, introduction to Les Fleurs du Mal.

* Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw (very exisitential there, George...)

* I love cats because I love my home and after a while they become its visible soul. Jean Cocteau

* In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer. Albert Camus

* Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true. Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil. Jesus was an architect, previous to his career as a prophet. All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world, so there was only one thing that I could do: was ding-a-ding-dang my dang-a-long ling-long." Ministry ('Jesus Built My Hotrod')

* Mankind's only greatness is to struggle against that which overwhelms it. It isn't happiness we should seek today, but much more than that, a kind of greatness-in-despair. Albert Camus

* I wasn't taking no-reply for an answer... Peter Cook

I'm a big Camus fan, in case you hadn't figured :D
