I prefer the older fashion of Stuttering Song... i.e.: Jimmy Driftwood doing "the Rattlesnake Song", AKA "The Stuttering Song" ... I love it, and everytime we sing it folks get a big kick out of it.

On Rattlesnake Mee-Y-Mountain, I did Dee-y-dwell
And here's a Stee-Y-story, I'm a gonna Tee-Y-tell,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

A nice young mee-y-man in the month of mee-y-may,
went out into his fee-y-fields for to mow his hee-y-hay,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

He had not mow-y-mowed around that fee-y-field
when a rattle-copper-snee-y-snake up and bit him on the hee-y-heel,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

He jumped up hee-y-high and looked all a ree-y-round,
Then he grabbed his lee-y-leg and fell to the gee-y-ground,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

He said, 'Little bee-y-bird, go find my gee-y-gal,
tell her I'm rattlesnake bee-y-bit and I need my See-y-Sal,"
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

The birdie flee-y-flew and spread the nee-y-news,
and here come See-y-Sally without her shoo-y-shoes,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

(falsetto)"Oh Johnny, dee-y-dear, why did you go-y-go
into the fee-y-fields, the hay for to mow-y-mow?"
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

(deep voice)"Oh Sally, dee-y-dear, I thought you know-y-knowed
When the hay gets ree-y-ripe, it's a gotta be mow-y-mowed."
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

(falsetto)"Oh Johnny dee-y-dear, I'll save your lee-y-life
If I may bee-y-be your sweet little wee-y-wife."
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

She grabbed his lee-y-leg and made him squee-y-squeal
and sucked all the poison blood all outta his hee-y-heel.
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

So all young fee-y-folk, come a warnin' tee-y-take
don't never get bee-y-bit by a rattle-copper-snee-y-snake,
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...

When a rattlesnake bee-y-bites, it hursts like a nee-y-knife,
When a woman bee-y-bites, yer bit for the rest of your life.
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo...
Come a Roo, dy roo, dy roo.

Needless to say, it is not easy to sing!
