The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
How, exactly, do we KNOW that they are honking to encourage those up front to keep up their speed?

Maybe they're just talking about the scenery.

Or arguing about the route or where to stop for dinner.

We know because my sainted handyman, Gary, said so.

Yesterday, when I was out at the trailers working with him, a flock of Canada geese flew over. The honking was impressive, as usual.

I said, "What do you think they're saying?"

"Geeetagoin'!"

Best wishes,
Jerry

I think the geese in back are saying:

"My wings are tired."
"Isn't it time for lunch yet?"
"There was a perfectly good lake back there. We should have stopped there."
"Are we there yet?"

Whew. Thanks Charlene, Jerry and Lambchop. Glad to see the tread back on track. All this "beauty" and "joy" made me wonder if this were the green board.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Anytime Fly!!

I was force-fed that motivational stuff when I worked at the phone company, and it always makes me want to run screaming out of the room!
