Try www.tinwhistler.com for this and many, many other tunes.

Pretend like you're playing a D whistle. The notes will sound different, but it'll be the right song.monkey wrote:Theo wrote:It's easy enough. Try something along the lines of (on a D whistle):
B BBB BB E G B
A AAA AA D F# A
B BBB BB C# d e d B A F# E E

It's in The Clarke Tin Whistle: Deluxe Edition (Book & CD) (Paperback) by Bill Ochs.

This is also a pretty good book and CD for learning to play.

Last year sometime somebody listed a site called "Yet Another Digital Tradition Page" at http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/. This has tons of songs, and MOST have the music - and the dots for the whistle. It's pretty easy to use - click on the first letter of the song you want, then click on the song. If it says "tune" after the title, you will see the sheet music. Then go down below the music where it says "this song available as" and click on "pennywhistle notation." At the top of this notation it will say what key it is in - most come up in D but a few are in C. At the bottom of this music you have a choice of keys, so you can change it to whatever. It's neat.

Its odd as some tunes i can kind of work out bits of quite well, but others i just don't have a clue???? mind you i've only been playing for one week.
