Dump your silly band names here...

Post by Dominic Allan »

Over the years I have come up with many stupid band names, or seen/heard something that I thought would make a ridiculous band name.
I believe that I'm not alone in this hobby, so please use this thread to unburden yourselves. There is also the slim chance that some poor misguided fool will actualy use one of them.
I'll start the ball rolling with this little gem I dreamed up last night:
CELTIC DEATHRAY!
also...
Dirty Fulcrum
and...Vinny Manlove and the Tokyo Plumbers.

I came up with "The Geographic Feature String Band".
There were so many bands like the Broken Valley String Band, or the Blue Mountain String Band, that I thought I'd just come up with a name to cover them all...

The Psychotic Orange :o

I think that came from a name-generator on some website, but I can't remember where. I laughed so hard that I don't think I'll ever forget the name though. :D

Aren’t they the Irish band that wrote Whisky in the Jar ?

PS don't try to play “Whisky in the Jar” Metalica is very enforcing in their art copyright.

My nephew publishes an occaisional metal e-zine. Here are the names of some real bands. It's tough to compete with reality. here's some of the material from the ocotober 2005 issue. I'm curious if and C&F folks played in the Doom Grind Fest 2005 tour.
Randy from Lamb of God, Guy from the Red Chord, Matt of Acid Victim Records
Show Reviews of:
Hate Eternal w/ Krisiun, Into Eternity
Dehumanized w/ Malignancy, Anoxia, Teratism
$ound'$ of the $ellout (I mean “underground”) tour 2005 w/ Lamb of God, Unearth, Opeth and a bunch of sh*t bands...
Doom Grind Fest 2005 w/ Grief, Unearthly Trance, Buried Inside, Conifer, Magrudergrind
The Black Dahlia Murder w/BTBAM, Cephalic Carnage, Into the Moat
Ion Dissonance w/ Through the Eyes of the Dead, the Red Death
Stonerfest w/ Ocean, Villige of Dead Roads, Conifer
Also a feature on riding freight trains from Maine to Montana and back, hitting Trampfest '05 on the way, the forth installment of the fictional epic “Funky Rais,” plus a ton of CD reviews and a sh*t load of other stuff…

Yes, I believe you're corect!

Here's a band name that just occurred to me: Painfully Itchy Scrotum. It's got that Billy Connelly feel about it.

Some of my friends in high school had a doo-wop group called "Ricky Retsyn and the Chlorets"

I guess you had to be there....
