After dealing with the virus mess last month, now the cd driver has decided to quit working! GRRRRRRRRRRr
I've spent all evening following the directions on Microsoft, etc. but the thing still doesn't work!
I love it when it's working right, but really wonder sometimes if it's worth the aggravation when it's not.
Gee, all I wanted to do was burn a cd, and end up wasting the whole evening in frustration.
Right now, I definately hate it more than love it.

What can I say? When everything is working well, I don't even think about it. But when there is a problem (a software glitch, for example), at some point I am going to say enough is enough. I might want to just sit in my rocking chair and watch dumb-dumb TV. It is a good thing that I have a computer geek that lives upstairs. I can't last very long on dumb-dumb TV. Can you?

I have my own personal computer geek named Phil. I met Phil in my archery club and we hit it off. Turns out he's in his final year of a computer engineering program. For a couple of beers he'll come over and fix any computer problem I have.
So all you need to do is make friends with a computer geek.

I have a nephew who use to help me with this crap, but he graduated from college and moved to NC so he's no help.
I'll probably have to break down and pay someone to fix it. The problem is more me. I hate to not be able to figure it out myself- makes me feel defeated.

Watch out for the geek. All geeks are not created equal. I have seen guys charge a huge amout of money to turn a computer into a hopeless mess of mis-adjustments, stupid tweaks, and dangerous improvements. You need to know how good the guy is who is working on your system .
