Yeah, at $4 a kilo, I can see a rush to start melting down sets of pipes already...

...but isn't brass made mostly of copper (and nickel silver)?

There are many types of brass, but it's basically about 60% copper and 40% zinc. Naval Brass is 60% Cu, 39% Zn, .075% Sn (the other.025% is a mystery).
