Gemstone Power

Post by TomB »

OK, one of the gifts I would like to get for my wife for Christmas is a gemstone type necklace, but I have a question. I was wondering which gemstones are supposed to be associated with which type of energy. For example, which stone or color of stone is supposed to give off healing energy, or calming energy, etc.

I'm not particularly a believer in such things, but saying that, I think it would be kind of a cool thing to do, since I want to get my wife something of that nature anyway.

Does anyone know the answers? IZZ, are you there???

Thanks, Tom

I would humbly suggest that you know where your gems come from. I would also like to mention that when I looked for jewelry for my wife that we found some one that hand made the items. The search it’s self can mean more than the necklace. Sorry I cannot give you a specific source for information on the gems themselves.

I found this on the web:

http://www.journey-to-self.com/gem_ston ... AVENTURINE

This shows photos of the gem and has a description of the effects that are ascribed to it.

There are people here on C&F that can tell you much more. The study of gems and crystals is a real part of some people's sprituality, and if approached respectfully, some will share their beliefs and experiences with you.

Do not know how accurate there advice is, (their categories seem to be color based) but is this the kind of thing you were looking for?

Thanks for the links, they are the type of information that I am looking for.

Peeps: When I said that I don't know if I believe in it, I wasn't making light of anyone's beliefs, and hopefully those that know me won't take it that way. It is an interesting study, just that I have not seen enough evidence to make a believer of me. That being said, I am certainly open to learning.

Thanks for the link, it's very helpful.

To enhance the specific energy effects of the gemstones you are looking for, you might want to reconsider the necklace idea. Instead, have them mounted on an aluminum foil helmet.

People who believe that certain rocks have magical powers have always confused me, because, usually, they are otherwise pretty "normal."

I would get her red. Red is always pretty.

Tom, that wasn't pointed at you; please forgive me if it seemed it was.

This subject has come up on the boards before, and some fine people have been ridiculed and made to feel both abnormal and unwelcome.

Cranberry, it's always easy to scoff at someone else. You should know that. And the someone else always gets hurt by it. Hurting people needlessly is never a good thing.
