"Green Man" on Type O Negative's October Rust I think has birds in it...I cant check it out though...'twas one of the CDs that was stolen from my car a few months ago that I never got around to replacing.

ok - I have a really obscure one.

A good friend, and fantastic mountain dulcimer player, David Schnaufer has a CD out called "Dulcimore". A couple of the beginning, and the last cut on the CD were recorded outside, with katydids (cicadas) chirping in the background.
David said he had several complaints about the CD, that there was a "noise" on it. He said the complaints all came from "city folks"!! :D

not exactly an animal sound, but I thinkg a rapper DMX growls like a dog in some of his tracks.

as you can see, there's a blackbird on the cd-cover. There's a beautiful track where you can hear a blackbird sing, before Eoin begins to play his low whistle. They say the blackbird was actually singing outside the window. :)

Real or fake.

The Original Dixieland Jazz Band specialised in animal impressions.

Duke Ellington's plunger mute specialists, Miley, Williams, Nanton et al all made trumpets and trombones growl.

The Bonzo Dog Band's 'Jollity Farm'.

Most Archie Shepp records contain horse farts and some mimic a dog being strangled.

I can't be bothered checking but I bet there are loads of Spike Jones records featuring animals.

Missy's favorite, "Muskrat Love"

And what about that sappy piece of bubblegum from the '70s....
I can't remember the name but some of the words were,

"Lovin' you, is easy 'cause you're beautiful" It had birds.
