:( I thought this was going to be a humourous thread. Like "Yo Mama..."

"I'm so mad, even Tom Cruise thinks I'm a nutcase." That kind of thing.

The only show I really like is Rescue Me and they are done for the season.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?

Joseph, are we related?
And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

Bald...funky eyeglasses....you must be!

say, whats with the color-changing glasses anywhoo? Does your color sensitivity rotate so you need specially designed glasses that counteract your condition, or are you just nuts?

Where I live we get three and a half TV channels: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and a near unwatchable, blizzard that is Channel4. There is no cable service, the Freeview service doesn't have coverage in our area and satellit is out due to an ancient and enormous oak tree.

My wife watches a couple of soaps and as many crime shows as she can find (although I don't think it's research for a career change...). Even if I wanted to see something, the chances of an available window of opportunity are slim.

I can't remember the last time I had the choice of anything worthwhile to watch; consequently I rarely bother with it.

Now what makes ME angry is all these people with dozens of channels to choose from, some of which actually seem to air things that I might like to glimpse occasionally.

Bitter? Me? :x

No, I am not sulking. Leave me alone. :tantrum:

As we can't get it my own knowledge is limited to the stuff of legend and myth...

Apparently, a coven of sorcerors have devised a diabolical method by which people may receive spirits called "digital tv channels" through their normal terrestrial tv antennae using something known as a "set-top box".

I think this gives access to about 30 or 40 free channels.

When translated into a non bitter type of thing means that on Freeview, you get to watch all of the crap for free.

On the pay stations,
you can watch all of the crap..and a lot more, for a monthly fee.

Sometimes, every little once in a while, there is something worth watching.

Choice is a nice option..
As my dear old departed Aunt Concepta was fond of saying.."'tis better to be looking at it ..than looking for it"

Slan,

And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

And if you had one, you'd be wasting time watching it.

We don't have a TV either, and I'm just about always glad of it. My father and/or I would get glued to it, and it really would waste time. I only rarely wish to watch TV anyway.

Tough love, Cran.

It's true. When all college students had was a TV, they wasted time watching it.

Now, they have computers and WiFi, so they surf the net while studying. And MP3s, so they can listen to music the whole time.

How can the knowledge get in around all that extraneous input????

At least, the computers and MP3s come with headsets, so when they do flunk out they don't drag their neighbors down with them . . .
