Hi everybody...

Post by dubhlinn »

...I'm back.
Ive been back since last saturday afternoon but for reasons above and beyond my comprehension, the PC had shut itself down during my holiday. The Geek was with me on saturday and soon got it all together again apart from one little detail.
The disc containing the software needed to kick start the modem/internet connection was missing!!!
Now I never touch anything techie so I can only assume that he took it with him after the last bout of Geekism and then lost it so I had to phone my ISP and request a new disc which arrived about twenty minutes ago and here I am..at last...back home on the Chiffboard :D :D

I gotta go to work this afternoon and then there is a huge amount of threads to catch up on but normal service should be resumed by the weekend so if anybody wants to delete anything...now is your chance.

Nice to be back among you all,
Slan,
D. :)
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Howdy Dub. Interesting you should need a disc to start your modem. Shouldn't that be installed as part of the Operating System?
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Nah, I wouldn't bother if I were you. Nuthin' much happened while you were gone.

I need to check those threads myself. I'm bound to have said something which means I'll have to go into hiding.

I had a similar thought. I know I never use the software that comes
with RoadRunner. Though, if using something like AOL, one might
need extra software to logon.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Hey, Dubh. Did you ever find out what a "bester" is?

I'm still thinking it might really be "bestard".
