Well, if a smelly dame offered me a pot of peas and cabbage, there's more than one reason I'd decline.

I knew about the "dogs and chocolate" thing, but did you know that a greyhound can eat its own weight in butter and show no ill effects?
A few other things that I've been told over the years:
"In all matters relating to childbirth and babies, whenever possible stay at the noisey end."
"Beer is food"
"The only thing that you should put in your ear is your elbow."

always consult a vet before feeding a greyhound large amounts of butter.

If you have already eaten playground gravel you could save yourself a lot of discomfort by taking a sleeping pill and a laxative at the same time.

Another one I heard attributed to Confucius: "He who shoots shotgun at car winds up with leaky radiator."

I've heard that the a dog would have to eat nearly it's weight in chocolate to show adverse effects. When I was a kid we gave M&M's to our Dachshund. Of course that was the late 60's. Maybe she was 'trippin'!!
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

My chihuahua LOVES Vasaline. if you leave any out, he'll eat it all...
Once we had a brand new industrial sized tub of it (y'know, Costco sized) and we left it out on the bathroom counter. The little smeg head got the lid off and ate the whole damn thing!!!!
He was pretty regular for a while! :D
