Dinosaurs on Noah's Ark

Post by Doug_Tipple »

That's right, folks. ABC evening news reported the opening of a museum that graphically protrays scenes of Noah having dinosaurs on the ark. OK, I have to admit that I am biased, since I have a degree in geology, and I don't remember reading anything about Noah's ark in my studies at the university. Maybe the reason I didn't hear about how Noah saved the dinosaurs is because I went to one of those liberal arts universities, and here I was thinking that the dinosaurs had been extinct for millions of years before old Noah got it in his head to build an ark to rescue all of the animals of the world. I guess if you watch enough TV, you can learn something new every day.

Hehe. So did I. I feel so ignorant now. Hmmm... I wonder how the old fella kept the T. Rexes from dining on all the other guests?

I kind of wished that he would have kept out mosquitos, ticks and flies.

I think it's obvious how termites made it on the ark.

A long time ago, when the Earth was green,
There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen.
And they ran about and played while the Earth was being born,
And the loveliest of all was the unicorn.

There was green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees.
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
The loveliest of all was the unicorn.

The Lord seen some sinning and it caused Him pain.
And He said, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain!"
He said, "Hey, Brother Noah, I'll tell you what to do,
Go and build me a floating zoo,"

"and take some".......

"Green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees.
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born.
Don't you forget My unicorns."

Old Noah was there to answer the call,
He finished up the ark just as the rain started to fall.
Then he marched in the animals two by two,
And he called out as they came through,

"Hey Lord,"

"I've got green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees.
Some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord, I'm so forlorn,
I just can't find no unicorns!"

And Noah looked out through the driving rain,
Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games.
Kicking and splashing while the rain was pourin',
Oh, them silly unicorns!

There was green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees.
Noah cried, "Close the door because it's starting to storm,
And we just can't wait for those unicorns!"

The ark started moving, it drifted with the tide,
The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried.
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away,
That's why you never see unicorns to this very day.

You'll see some green alligators and long-necked geese,
Lots of humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees.
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
You're never gonna see a unicorn!
I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Noah's Grandfather, Methuselah had an interesting name: When he dies it will happen.

The year he died, the flood came.

Could you imagine calling your kid "When he dies it will happen".

What kind of museum was it? A museum of anachronisms?
I'm kind of wondering why Noah and his ark would be in a museum anyway.

According to what ABC revealed about the creator of the museum, his ideas were similar to what has been discussed on another post on C & F about "intelligent design", with over 5000 hits and 400 responses. That means that this is a hot topic. Personally, I don't think that it should be, but I merely live here; I don't tell other people what to think.

I might add that the news broadcast mentioned a family that had travelled at distance on their summer vacation just to visit this museum. Personally, I would rather take my family to the beach.

..because a lot of people believe the story of Noah to be fact even though it is totally nonsensical, yet there it is in the bible so it must be true...

Why? Because it's in the Bible?

Doug, is this the museum you are referring to?

http://www.answersingenesis.org/museum/

Being that it's in northern KY - we've been hearing a lot about it for years.
