-Don't santologists share a belief system with clausicrucians i.e. a jolly fat man with a big beard delivering presents/ lumps of coal worldwide each year? I think I saw something like that in one of the old National Lampoon newspapers. (The Dacron, Ohio Republican-Democrat)
-If there were anything to the lumps of coal theory-couldn't George Bush
and Dick Cheney supply our national energy needs with them? They must have a large supply from being bad.

On the topic of the thread, didn't you love Tom's romantic proposal atop the Eiffel Tower? A profession of his undying love - " 'til death do us part - or until you become a more important star than me..."

Most religious fanatics are creepy and arrogant........creepy because there is something strange about them and once they become fanatically religious the creepy part becomes more outwardly noticable....arrogant because they think they are better than everybody else since either God has chosen them, or God is personally talking to them, etc.. you get the drift...very creepy, and suprisingly arrogant (even by Hollywood standards, most would actually make an effort to sound modest in an interview).

Over the years, I kept hearing my co-workers going ga-ga over Cruise, but I could never see it. I tried watching several of his movies on video, but usually couldn't get past the first half hour. The exceptions were "Far and Away" (it took me three tries to get through it, and I kept with it just because I like Ron Howard and wanted to give it a chance), and "Rainman" because, I think, I had as low an opinion of Cruise's character as I did of Cruise so I didn't have that "oh, please!" factor.OnTheMoor wrote:I used to think Tom Cruise was a fairly decent fellow.
Then I saw a sit-down with him last night... very creepy, and suprisingly arrogant (even by Hollywood standards, most would actually make an effort to sound modest in an interview).
Wait--I did get all the way through the first "Mission Impossible." Not sure why, though. Must not have been paying attention.
Anyway, I think he and Nicole Kidman have very cold eyes. Snake eyes. Look at their pictures--See any warmth? Any humor?
He'll never know that I'm trying to avoid him, of course. All I can do is refuse, in my small way, to support him.

Actually, I think Tom Cruise is an underrated actor. In the right movie, he can really shine. The right movie, by the way, is Magnolia, but I digress.mvhplank wrote:Over the years, I kept hearing my co-workers going ga-ga over Cruise, but I could never see it. In any case, I'm boycotting the work of all Scientologists. They've been trying to convince people for years and years that mental health professionals are evil and I for one have had a belly full.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Well, it's no wonder why. Have you listened to the L. Ron clips on that website? I'm sure he was averse to mental health professionals because he himself was clearly over the edge and hanging on by a twig.DaleWisely wrote:In any case, I'm boycotting the work of all Scientologists. That's it! I'm not seeing any more Peggy Lipton movies. Ever.
