Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

But apparently these are the REAL DEAL. That has to make SOME difference, no?

Yeah...imagine pulling one out at some random session, and saying (affect yokel accent if desired), "hey, this thingy I just got at Zeke's Kitschy Krafts kinda looks like the one you're playin'...do y'all mind if I try playin' with ya for a song? I'll just try to pick it up as ya go along." Then wait until they go into some fast reel you know, and tear into it. It's fun to tweak people's preconcieved notions!

(Blowing thick layers of dust off an old and buried thread)

<Cough! Cough!>

I'm guessing the answer is "no", but I've just got to ask: did anyone here ever score one of these whistles?

I just e-mailed Overton, but since nothing else has been said about these in a year, I'm sure their deal on these fell through. I'm still intrigued, though, so if anyone has a lead on these please let me know.

I like them both.

I also like the Mexican hairless dogs. They're so ugly they're cute.

I have kept in contact with Brigitte about these whistles on a VERY regular basis. Just ask her! :D As a matter of fact it has been a couple of months and I should bug her again (with a carrot of an order maybe?).

Anyway, there is some difficulty in the communication arena with the person that makes these whistles. Something like the Goldie's know the person that know the person that makes the whistles sort of thing.

I noticed that Jessie did not list HERS on any of her for sale lists. They must be REALLY nice!!!!

BTW, I want one of the BARKY ones - too cool.

I want one. One of those whistles, that is...not a basenji. Barked or barkless, they both have appeal (ach, that's a bad pun, isn't it?). Seriously, I think both look cool...can you imagine busking with one of the barky ones?

Imagine taking one of the bark-on models to a renaissance fair. What a hoot ! If they play , as well as has been reported , it could sure be a lot of fun. Let the judges try to claim these babies aren't authentic enough !! :lol:

I'm lucky enough to have one of these whistles (barkless) and I gotta tell you it's one terrific whistle. Especially when you consider that this fellow makes them entirely without power tools. It plays a full two octaves clearly and cleanly. The voicing is sort of recorder like which I don't mind since I'm also a recorder player. I hope these become more widely available so other people can give them a try.
