Extra! Extra! The Palm Tree Snaps
Become like the "PALM TREE", adaptable and flexible; it never misdirects its own ability to withstand the pressure! It adapts to all types of weather. WRONG....it definitely will snap!
I have tried to become the "Palm Tree" but have decided its just not for me...So I have decided to become like a piece of "Hickory"...hard, tough, doesn't take sh*t from anyone...stands its ground...and smells good.
What tree best reflects your life?

What an utterly cool question. . .
After some thought, and knowing more about trees than the average person (BS Forestry), I would have to say I'm an oak (undetermined species as yet, but I'll let you know when it becomes apparent just WHAT oak).
1) I hang on to things long after they're useless.
2) I during my youth a lot more was going on underground than up in the light.
3) I tend to branch off into various interests that really don't go anywhere.
4) I'm a little nutty sometimes.

I would like to be a baobab tree I think. They are ancient, strange, huge and useful---people can even live in them. There are legends about them, I think some are even considered sacred. There are a number of species and they can look quite different. The oddest thing I read is that they are also useful bonsai plants.
I can't really say what sort of tree I am actually like-----certainly I am not like the noble baobab, but the appearance of this baobab tree does sort of remind me of my life

It also poisons much that tries to grow around it.Walden wrote:Maybe I'd be a black walnut tree.
- •It is a native tree in Eastern Oklahoma.
•It's a pretty big tree.
•It's versatile: tastes better, IMO, than other kinds of walnuts, and has wood that can be used for many different purposes.
•A hard nut to crack.

I think I'm a maple: kinda sappy.
I do love maples, though. When I was a kid my dad planted a silver maple on the parkway in front of our house, and I love to drive by the old house to see how it towers now. I remember how we all worried over it until it started to thrive. Maples are my favorite trees for fall color, too.

I'd thought about that and decided not to put it in the list.Bloomfield wrote: It also poisons much that tries to grow around it.
