It depends on the flip. They can be quite attractive, if not overdone. Case in point: Joanne Hogg of Iona (at left in photo).

Let's not forget the guy from "flock of seagulls" now!

FINALLY! someone mentions these guys.

In the dictionary next to the word 'tragic' should be their pic.

...sing'n:
  • Hair

She asked me why...I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night; Hair that's a fright.
    I'm hairy high and low,
Don't ask me why; don't know!
It's not for lack of bread
    Like the Grateful Dead; darlin'

Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
    Shinin', gleamin', steamin', flaxen, waxen
Gimme it down to there, hair!
    Shoulder-length or longer
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy

    CHORUS:
Hair! (hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair)
    Flow it, Show it;
Long as God can grow it, My Hair!

Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas, a hive for the buzzin' bees
A nest for birds, there ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendour, the wonder of my

    CHORUS

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
    Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
    Oily, greasy, fleecy, shinin'
    Gleamin', steamin', flaxen, waxen
    Knotted, polka-dotted; Twisted, beaded, braided
    Powdered, flowered, and confettied
    Bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied!

O-oh, Say can you see; my eyes if you can,
    Then my hair's too short!
Down to here, down to there,
    Down to there, down to where;
    It stops by itself!
doo doo doo doo doot-doot doo doo doot

    They'll be ga-ga at the go-go
when they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond, brilliantined, biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it
    Hallelujah I adore it
    Hallelujah Mary loved her son
Why don't my Mother love me?

As that picture was loading, I thought it was going to be Celia Cruz!

I always loved Celia. And her music. She was always so happy. I wish she wasn't dead.

I've come to understand that five foot tall blonde wigs do that to a person (make them happy, not dead).

Tragic? Well, I don't know. Tragically stupid, yes, tragically irritating, yes.

Tragically stupid? My first thought was that idiotic "style" worn by the guy on Amazing Race last year. I couldn't watch him. I wanted SOMEBODY to take some scissors and snip off those stupid pigtails.

Ok. I am going to be more brave than usual. Much more brave, and post a picture of myself. It's a rare color shot of Bloomfield, and quite old; there isn't anything left to comb over now. (Yes, yes, thank goodness. But those were different times.)
