Tell you what andrew, if you're really keen to find this flute a new home, my birthday is coming up soon......andrewK wrote:But has anybody bought the flute yet ?
That is what the thread is about.
If Hamilton flutes are any good a readily available one in perfect condition should find a home surely ?

No-one has yet bought the flute although several offers have been received. I am also overwhelmed at the generosity of my fellow C&F'rs who have consistantly bumped this thread using all manner of other topics. My goal is to get banned from the forum for the most gratutious bumping of a for-sale thread in history.andrewK wrote:But has anybody bought the flute yet ?
I was originally planning to generate lots of replies and interest in the thread by titling it either " Comparison recordings of all my flutes" or "Relative Humidity", both topics which are odds-on to stimulate the masses. (Sorry for the gambling reference, but I am spending way too much time playing online poker at the moment!)
I'm off to have a tune on my Hammy flute - oh incidentally, does anyone want to buy it?

"I wonder how the pads on my former flute, the old German flute Mary (Whistlin Dixie) bought, are doing. I used the silicone method on all 8 keys (the bottom two were the trickiest - having to tie them down as well as trim them so they allowed the D and C# to vent properly).
Mary - are they all still in place and sound? Or, did you end up selling the flute?
Eric"
Mary - is this it? "one perfect gentleman"?

I have a few that are really nice flutes, but I need to pass them on (I just (20 minutes ago) got my keyed Noy flute, it's sooooooooo good!!), I have a 5 key French flute the John Gallagher restored, and the one Noy restored, but there too nice not to use the keys, and there from 1850's, then I have some that need work but are very unique.
but I was mostly asking because it sounded like you were thinking of getting a right handed, keyed flute.
I'm left handed, but since I started on the Boehm (30 years ago !!) I play "normal".
take care, eilam.
