COOL WALLPAPERS

Post by dubhlinn »

I like to change my Wallpaper/Background every few days and usually use one of these sites to do so.
Wonderful graphics and all for free..

and yet you rarely ever change your avatar. I never change my desktop (ie: wallpaper Mac style), and yet I change my avatar sometimes daily. What does that say about me??? Wait, maybe you shouldn't answer that

Izzy,
I am very fond of my Avatar and would be very reluctant to change it...after all this is the fella who gave us "Raglan Road" and another great verse written on the very spot where he now sits;

Lines Written on a Seat
on the Grand Canal, Dublin

'Erected to the memory of Mrs. Dermot O'Brien'

O commemorate me where there is water,
Canal water, preferably, so stilly
Greeny at the heart of summer. Brother
Commemorate me thus beautifully
Where by a lock niagarously roars
The falls for those who sit in the tremendous silence
Of mid-July. No one will speak in prose
Who finds his way to these Parnassian islands.
A swan goes by head low with many apologies,
Fantastic light looks through the eyes of bridges -
And look! a barge comes bringing from Athy
And other far-flung towns mythologies.
O commemorate me with no hero-courageous
Tomb - just a canal-bank seat for the passer-by.

-Patrick Kavanagh

Here's a better view;

Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

I wouldn't want you to change your avatar, Dub. I'm actually very fond of it. :) And thank you for the history behind it. I always love to hear the "behind the scenes" story.
I really was just being silly with my comment. I often wonder what my constant avatar changing means about me.

Thanks Dub...I rarely change my avatar or wallpaper, but thanks to you I've presently got a gargoyle overlooking some European cityscape.

Great stuff. I should start such a page. I've made dozens of 3D images using Bryce, Poser, Ray Dream Studio and Paint Shop Pro. Of course my hard drive just died but I *think* I backed them up somewhere.

These are great.

I collected a whole lot of Star Trek wallpapers from various sources quite some time ago, which I change once in a while.

You might also like to try Vlad Studio's wallpapers which are really nice.

Before you can enjoy your new wallpaper, you should insure that your computer screen is well cleaned.
