Do we want to keep political and/or religious in 1 thread?

Socializing and general posts on wide-ranging topics. Remember, it's Poststructural!

Should we continue to try to keep political & religious posts in the mega-thread?

I quit looking at the political/religious at about page 20 just because it was becomming a pain in the ass to wade through, so I say allow folks to post away now that we don't have the problem of real whistle posts being bumped off page 1 by a surfeit of vitriolic spleen over perceived political outrages and vapid speculation as to the true intentions of the divine being du jour.

Politics and religion, like worm medicine, are best taken in small doses.

Ewww! I would never take worm medicine.

What kind of medicine do worms take, anyway? Of course, the size of the dose would depend on the size of the worm, wouldn't it? Do they teach this in veterinary school? What kinds of illnesses do worms get? How can you tell if a worm is sick? Darwin, help!

Best wishes,
Jerry

I never really thought about it . . . I wonder if worms can get worms?

Now that a Postructural Pub is established, naaah.

I would be more inclined to contribute to something if it wasnt lumped into some generic name.

I agree, we should have separate unsticky threads. I never did follow the mega-thread.

I was never into the "Sticky: Political...and sometimes religious" thread because participation in it (unless you've been there from the get go) is too much like work. Far too much BS to want to wade through to see what points have been made & by whom. No thanks

Cheers,

OH NO!! :o

First I have to deal with the fact that we are booted off to the bottom of the row in this pub.

Now I see rumors of removing or renovating my favorite sticky thread?

I would prefer if the political and religious be bifurcated. It's getting painful wading through the biblical quotes to follow an interesting political discussion.

I think it would be a good idea to split 'em up....after all, talking religeon and politics in the same thread...let alone in the same pub...can only lead to really big trouble. :D

While we are making some changes, let's keep the ball rolling.

thing is...we've already busted out of the mega-thread anyway. There's no point in trying to keep a bunch of pub crawlers from starting independent issues-based threads.

Yup, you guys have swayed me with your well-reasoned arguments. I voted to let it all hang out.

I've ignored the political/religious thread religiously for ages, because it is impolitic to join in.

Let the religious/political thread slowly faded away...

A thread for each particular political or religious topic that folks may want to discuss might be nice.
