Over the last couple of weeks in Spokane, we've had 8 inches of snow, it's been down below zero for the lows (F), the other day we had freezing rain, and today it's already 50F at 11 am and headed for a high around 56. We still have about 3 inches of snow on the ground but it's melting fast.

Of course, where people walked on the snow it's still all icy.

The magnetic poles are currently reversing and have undergone tremendous change in the southern hemisphere. :o
So THAT explains why this compass points southeast!

Nope. You done broke it. It should be good for a couple thousand more years: http://www.antarcticconnection.com/anta ... flip.shtml

I was going to trade in my car for one with a more up-to-date compass, but it looks like I won't need to, after all.

So, now the only reason I got to get me a Cadillac with an On Star system is just so the Homeland Security outfit can track me? I'm not even comfortable using my Homeland Savings Card!

I'm in Portland, Oregon. A couple of days ago, it was about -3 C and we had a fierce ice storm...cars sliding all over the roads. Today it got up to about 16 C...There's still gravel and ice all over the roads and people are walking around in t-shirts.

I blame Condy Rice. It makes as much sense as just about any other explanation...

I'm from the PacNW too...

I'll take the "Pineapple Express" over freezing rain anyday!

It actually hit 65 degrees over the Columbia River the other day.

We are now bracing for "THEEEEEE snowstorm of the season"...although since the season isn't over, I don't know how they can be sure of that. But all this after over 70 degree temps last week. We're in for almost a foot of snow it seems.

I heard murmurs of the possibility that we'll get snow tomorrow too. :boggle:

We've gotten about a foot since 11:00 PM last night. I love it. I'm like a kid when it snows alot. I've been outside since 5:30 this morning. I finally came in a 4:00. Of course my mommy wasn't there to make me hot chocholate. I had to settle for rum.

One of the Dallas-area TV weather programs mentioned tonight that the temperature on this day in Dallas in 1909 was 85F, and in 1918 it was 6F. That's a pretty good range.

I've been running around outside with just a T-shirt (and jeans and mocs, of course), but it's supposed to get down into the 20s tomorrow.

Doesn't look too wonderful in the Northeast. I didn't see snow until I was in the 11th grade, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly and it's never been one of my favorite things.
