I've ordered my Burke !
Hi !
I've just ordered my Burke brass narrow bore. I don't know if there's any waitinglist, so I'll just be waiting here patiently.
I'll let you know as soon as it has arrived (well, after trying it first, that is..... )

congrats! Burkes truly sound wonderful, you can make it sing like a lark in the morning. I have an Al-NB Pro in D, and am thinking of getting a brass one soon as I've collected enough yen. People say brass ones got warmer tone...will be waiting for the review!

- Tell us something.: I play the first flute Jon Cochran ever made but haven't been very active on the board the last 9-10 years. Life happens I guess...I owned a keyed M&E flute for a while and I kind of miss it.

I played a friends Burke Narrow Bore and couldn't distinguish a difference between it and the Pro Session....I mean, I know they look different and the hole size is different, but volume level was virtually the same and playability was about the same. I guess it might be easier to half hole the pro session....anybody else notice the same thing.

So far my favorite is the Sweetone. My dogs don't like it when I play the Susato, they want to get out of the room. When I play the Sweetone they fall asleep, the puppy sometimes even on my lap.Flyingcursor wrote:My Burke is my favorite whistle so far.
But it's not the Susato that is to blame, I think it's my playing.
The whistle everybody likes the most is my Dixon Low D.
Just can't wait to see wat they will think of the Burke.............Hope it's going to be another favorite.

I think you'll find that the Burke has a richer, more complex sound than the Sweetone, and is MUCH easier on the ears than the Susato!Butterfly wrote:So far my favorite is the Sweetone. Not a bad exchange, really. Even better if you sell a couple...suejnnhe wrote:Well color me green! I really want one of those! Unfortunately I'd have to sell one of my children to get one right now.
(I have read studies that suggest that some mothers prefer their children to inanimate possessions, but I find that idea difficult to accept. I'm sure those studies are flawed.)

Somewhat off-track:
This morning, my wife remarked that although she'd never even thought of drowning our kids when they were babies (response to the latest Andrea Yates news on the TV, I think), now that they are older and talk back she's occasionally tempted to strangle them.
Much as I love our kids, I understood exactly what she meant.
