Lost PM Anybody?
A few minutes ago I got a message that a new PM had arrived. When I got to my PMs, the latest message was stale. If you sent me a PM just now, in all likelihood it was the one that's gone missing.
BTW, does anybody know why this sometimes happens?

Thanks Jerry. You've solved one of the cosmic mysteries.Jerry Freeman wrote:Hi, Wombat.
It was I.
I sent a PM asking a question relating to the discussion about God and such, then discovered you had already answered it in a post I hadn't read yet, so I deleted the PM.
Sorry about that.
Best wishes,
Jerry

I don't think it counts if I planted the mystery myself. (But the fame was exhilarating while it lasted. Publishers are invited contact me to negotiate contract terms for the book rights to my autobiography, which will be ready for publication in about three days. Movie rights remain with the Author.)Wombat wrote:Thanks Jerry. You've solved one of the cosmic mysteries.Jerry Freeman wrote:Hi, Wombat.

By the way I think this is a PHPbb limitation, I think the current design is trying to limit hard disk space usage by having only one copy of a private message, instead of making a copy of the sent message into the recipient's inbox. But that means that if the message is deleted from the sender's outbox, the recipient will also lose the message. I think having a copy of the message will make the private messaging system much more robust, as you'd be garanteed a delivery (let's say the sender's inbox and outbox is full, and has to be cleaned, what happens then?).

I think that a harder question to ask would be, Is there any Cod? Considering the millions of people around the the North Atlantic that make a lving from it or eat it!
Got Cod?
Maybe a PM (post mortem) could be done on why fishings stocks around the world are being depleted.
Cheers!
