Could this be related to my observation in the political thread a while back?Nanohedron wrote:No prob. I could have introduced myself as Jason, couldn't I? They just call me Nano around here. My real name's become a tad unreal to me by now.

Glad you could join us. There are quite a few mandolin players here.

Hi Jeff, as you can see from the signature bit at the bottom my name is John though on the board I normally get referred to as JBarter, JB (confusing, as there's another JB hereabouts), and to one board member as Big Zambezi (long story).
You really should check out some of the user names and avatars. You can learn a lot about posters' self perception that way. Everbody else's perception is, of course, that we're all nuts.

May the joy of music be ever thine.

Wow, what a warm welcome! Thanks. In the spirit of this post, let me say that my name is Jeff, but you can call me...Betty.
When I found this site, I was impressed with how nice you people are, and what a good sense of humor everyone has. Also, there's plenty of good off-topic discussion, unlike some boards where the OT threads get as dumb as "Who thinks they can crack my skull", or else they're full of trolls.
It's nice to find a good board finally.

I would like to invite you to jbarter's Christmas party. You can read about it HERE. Just scroll down the page a bit till you see the description. You can just call me Paul BTW.
Best,
