OT board for OT topics that are OT and not OnT.

Post by mukade »

I just logged in to find seven of the first ten threads on this board were OT. Why not make a separate OT board? It is starting to get silly.

:D

Haven't you read the rest of the site? It's *supposed* to be silly. :P

Seriously though - this comes up often and most people seem to prefer to leave the board the way it is. The OT topics are marked OT so those who don't want to read them can avoid them.

Yep, most people prefer it this way, and for that matter- the board owners/moderators want it this way also.

Seriously though, it's the off topic stuff that makes this a community, not just a run of the mill discusssion forum. I can only show so much interest in 12" of metal tube with 6 holes and a plastic bit on the end.

Are they related to the spelling cop who used to frequent the board back in the days when it was still possible to be anonymous on the board. Did we ever discover their true identity?

My sentiments exactly. It's the only forum where I regularly participate and have for over two years. I've met some cool people from this site. Except for Martin. Martin is beyond cool. He's....well...he's groovy!
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Thanks to all who answered the ever present question of why not a seperate OT forum. That way I don't have to.

How hard can it be to scroll past the OTs if you are only intrested in whistling? :-? Is it really so difficult?

Maybe Dale should post a statement to the effect that C&F is littered with OT posts, there will not be a seperate forum for them. Deal with it.

This could be a large notice that would come up on the way to the whistle forum. That way all would be forwarned.
