i agree - "aro" doesn't work, but slip the "L" in there and see how easily it flows
off the tongue..."arlo"..."arlok" :)

beautiful, huh?
Um, yeah, sure, ok.

Was being a jerk to me in two threads for NO reason worth losing your credibility?

Out of the goodness of my heart I will warn you...if you are planning to run your current board ID into the ground and just post under a different one, the powers that be will know if you are logging in from the same computer with two different IDs and will out you publicly. They don't look at that unless a problem comes up. Perhaps your days are numbered.

I vote for keeping the K. This is my general opinion about married women keeping their birth names.

Or is it from your single days? I just relized it may not be a birth name.

Keep the K. If nothing else, your Kosher.

I don't about here specifically, but it's not unheard of for someone to create a new id on boards, usenet, other media, to argue. From Wikpedia entry on sock puppets:
A sock puppet describes a second account created by an existing member of an Internet community, sometimes to manufacture the illusion of support in a vote or argument. Other reasons include a desire to support or vote on an issue coupled with a desire to have one's "main" account stay away from the issue. These individuals are often labeled as Internet trolls.
I can barely maintain one presence, I can't imagine doing more.

Kislin was my birth surname. I'm not Kosher. ;)

It can be fun to watch, especially when the obnoxious ones get caught.

A weird mutation of this is when folks create whole personalities, even killing them off. See Kaycee Swenson.

The world is a nutty place. I love it. :D

Given the advice you have given in the past, and the fact that you will continue to do so, I wonder how this would effect searching by author?

Not that this should prevent you from having the name that you want.

I haven't been here long enough to comment on the historical aspects of the K, but I think,
taking "JessieK" as a whole, the moniker had a nice look and sound to it (I pronounce it
[in my head] like Jessica, but with a long "a" at the end). So I voted for the K merely for
aesthetic reasons...

Of course, this is coming from a guy whose online name most people probably can't
pronounce at all... Hm. Amazingly, I just thought of that.
If anyone was wondering, it kinda sounds like "fair foo in", and is my best guess for a
Scots Gaelic version of "silly guy" or "foolish man"...
In Latin, I render it "vir stultus".

Anyway, "hooray for the K", and all that rot. Though, I can easily understand your
reason for the change, Jessie.

OK, so what if there's 2 people in the same household and sharing a pc, both posting messages on C&F.

If you're sharing one identity we'll know!

Pubicly? Now that would be embarrassing.
