Christmas Eve
The Merry Harriers
The Morning Dew
The Torn Jacket
The Battering Ram

That's interesting,I could have gone on listing reel after reel after reel, but I had to think to come up with one jig.I didn't know I was so biased.I'm sure I like jigs, really! Oh,here's another one I like to play these days:

Dusty Windowsills

See? I like jigs!

Currently enjoying Lord Gordon on the whistle after having played it for years on the fiddle.Never realised it was so well suited to the whistle!

well, lately I've been liking the following:

Sally Gardens (Joanie Madden's version on "Song of the Irish Whistle" is fantastic, which is more than likely why I'm enamored with this one as of late)
Rolling in the Rye Grass
The Foggy Dew
Boolavogue
The Eagle's Whistle
The Bonny,Bonny Broom

That's just a few...they happen to be the one's I am working on as of late
Someday, everything is gonna be diff'rent
When I paint my masterpiece.

Try to get hold of Vinnie Kilduff's recording of the tune. It's a blast. If faster and more accurate playing has ever been recorded, I'd like to hear it.

Tim Britton has a killer verson on The Pied Piper's Call, which is only available on cassette. Terrific album all around.

How can anyone even mention the tune without thinking of Micho Russell? Donncha O Briain recorded a half decent take on it too :P

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

I love when we do a thread like this. I always find two or three new tunes to try out, at least.
"Meon an phobail a thogail trid an chultur"
(The people’s spirit is raised through culture)
