I just found out several hundred French Francs that was the left over from a trip 7 years (?) ago to France. I was told because the unified Euro, the Francs is no longer useful in European and US. I can't change the Francs to USD now. Is it ture?

One of my friend told me that there is a place in SF international airport can change non-coin Francs to USD. I will make a change soon and the extra money will go to flute/ whistle fund.

I'm confused, I thought that the modern day French descended from the Francs, and that you found some old ones, that's great archeological news!
And then the other thing is, I didn't know that the French ate Francs

As far as I know, you can no longer change the old currencies to Euros. But maybe you could sell them on e-bay for collectors.
