OT...Monty Python...what's your fave?
After not seeing The Holy Grail for about 20 years, my husband and I sat down with our 14 and 11 yr old kids last night and roared with laughter all the way through. The kids, not being used to this British humor (Canadians, eh) were at first a little puzzled and now want to see it again. They especially liked the minstrels and the French guy in the castle.
19 years ago, my now-hubby went on our first date, and then with friends watched a video of the Monty Python movie with the guy throwing up in the restaurant (can't remember which one that is).
Any other M.P fans out there?

Monty Python is great. I'm a big fan of The Flying Circus.

ok - funny story about "Holy Grail" (and is also on topic for this time of year).
Noah was three - and dressed as a knight, decked out with his wooden sword and shield from the Ren Faire. We went "trick or treating" at the local zoo - where they have different areas set up for the kids to get goodies. We are standing in line, and Noah is standing there going "Ni". "Ni". "Ni".
The woman in front of me turns and asks "Surely he hasn't seen THAT movie?" Noah proceeds, in his best British accent (and speech problem to boot) to say "It's merely a flesh wound"!

I love that. The lad will go far. Maybe not in a direction you might want, but he'll go far.missy wrote:ok - funny story about "Holy Grail" ....Noah proceeds, in his best British accent (and speech problem to boot) to say "It's merely a flesh wound"!
All their work, the films and the skits, makes me laugh the good laugh, the long laugh... but let's not give short shrift to the work of the individual members, as well; my favorite is Cleese. He is quite possibly the funniest human on the planet... I adore "Fawlty Towers." "Whatever you do, don't mention the war!"

When the moment comes, the first song in English my son will learn will be a censored version of the Lumberjack song
Personal remarkable moments
"Every sperm" from the Meaning of life (which I can't reproduce in order to avoid hurting the sensitivity of other members of the forum)
The one with Pijus magnificus (spanish versión, to avoid hurting the sensitivity of other members of the forum) and wife
And the coconut thing in the Round table; I lost most of the movie laughing at that the first time I watched the movie
Regretably, I haven't been able to watch the TV series

- Tell us something.: I love Irish music! I am mostly a whistle player but would like to learn more about flutes. I also have a couple older whistles I'd like to sell and maybe pick up a bamboo flute to practice with.
