Somehow you managed to convince me that there is more to these snails than just slime in a shell :) They actually sound interesting and if I ever get an aquarium, I'll concider putting in some apple snails. Thanks for putting it in to words so comprehensively

Oh, but they really are wonderful. If it was legal to send them to the Nederlands, I'd mail you some. :)

Cran, your new avatar is too funny... thanks for the info on apple snails, I'm going to try to get one for my tank. Will he or she get along okay with my new fiddler crab?

I've had freshwater crabs and freshwater snails, but not at the same time in the same tank, so I don't know from first hand experience. However, I've read online a few times about snails getting bit and even eaten by crabs, because the snails are so slow (imagine that) and the crabs have those big ole claws.

I've also heard that some bettas will nibble on snails' feelers, but I've had bettas and snails together lots of times and never had that problem.

If you want, I will send you an apple snail for free. They ship well as long as you mail them on Monday or Tuesday (I got all mine from eBay from Florida because the pet stores here are awful). I have 20, so I'd be glad to send you one. Let me know. :)

Every time I go into Walmart, I walk over to the live lobster tank and stand there and pray for the lobsters, because I know what fate awaits them.

If my mother is with me, she quickly walks away at this point, because she thinks I'm crazy.

I've shared it with several friends. however, my cat saw it on the screen, immediately began hyperventilating and has gone into hiding in the trash compactor. i think she's had a psychotic break. this after 6 years of therapy. her not me. but maybe it's time. please tell me what to do about this.

1) Take a deep breath and relax.

2) Tell the cat everything will be ok and give her 500mg catnip twice a day.

3) Mail all your whistles to me.

It should be fine.

Does anyone top Cranberry's average of 5 posts a day?
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine.
