Meanwhile, a handful grew into a crowd, the crowd into a slew, and the slew into a horde. The horde waited, their mood growing dangerous, nay, horrid: they were a horrid horde, heckling for him who'd whored himself for a hoard of handwriting. Only it wasn't handwriting. It was typing. Or that voicethingamabob. Anyway, it was all pixels. And the horde was chafing. Big time.

Suddenly, an avatar of Ghengis Khan blew into the scene as if surfing on a desert windstorm.
"I bring you Mongol Cream! Guaranteed to stop all chaffing and itching. One tube heals a horde!"

Chiffers chilled, chafed, or chaffed… cheerful or choleric, a chastening chorus. Chapter challenge chicks’ churning chapters choked, chagrined. Change character! Choose champions, chief! the chifferchaffers chanted.

I've decided to issue demerits in the form delay.

Seriously though, I've gotten really busy, but hope to have the results up tonight. Sorry. :)

This competition has been going on too long. It's already getting to be anticlimatic. Even the Greek Olympics will have come and gone by then.

The chafing horde settled down, as Stacey had showed up bearing a great serving of The Haggis, wi' Tatties an' Neeps an' guid whusky to wash it all down. They fell to as if famished, and all you could hear from the distracted noshers was the occasional burp.

Bloomfield was let off the hook once again, saved this time by The Haggis. Were Stacey and Bloomfield in cahoots?

I can only assume you're referring to the 'neeps.

edit: Oh. I'm dumb. It's the cahoots you're talking about. If my fipples were more bodacious I'd get it faster.

…scottie promptly marshaled a small army of Highlands hounds to nip round among the crowd, each with a little cask of uisge beatha—the water of life—for refreshment as necessary. Nano, ever mindful of the niceties, were circulating with some oaties to cleanse the palate, post-haggis; they cast a jaundiced eye at the casks, and some of them could be heard speculating on the inferior quality of the malt.

But then, just as mutual assured intoxication seemed inevitable, the entire crowd leaped to its feet and ran, stumbled, and jostled its way to another thread.

emmline and Nano breathed a collective sigh of vast relief....while scottie and Stacy hastily trotted around and collected all the casks.

Yes, get over there and see to it that stony silence doesn't prevail. People can actually discuss entries and things. It would also amuse me to be accused of incompetence and bias by the rabble. ;)
