Would you consider taking two $1,000 Generation Cs in trade?talasiga wrote:I have a well played Generation Bb tin whistle that I want to sell.
Its an instrument I kept in the car to play in traffic jams.
It has a few dints in it from rolling around off the seat
and being trodden on by high heeled passengers.
Its not all metal, the beak is plastic - red plastic.
I desperately need the money at the moment
to finance my next trip to Ireland.
Only offers in excess of $2000 will be considered.
Thanks.

Wow Susnfx! That puts a whole new spin on this thread. I've heard that the Crystal People are looking for the blue head/brass tube combination, and are willing to trade a good set of uilleann pipes to obtain such a whistle. If you play your cards right, you may get them to throw in a couple of Copeland steling silver D's and possibly a sets of tickets to the World Series.susnfx wrote:What the heck have I got then? Because I'm sitting right here looking at a brass Bb with a blue mouthpiece. I'm sure it's special and rare. I'll consider any offer over $500 (I can't go to Ireland right now anyway, so I'll settle for less).

CSA Currency
Actually I have a collection of five CSA notes in a same mint series from 1864 which is actaually on the current market would be worth approximately $4000.00. So don;'t throw it away.....the south, at least I hear that Texas is desperate to leave the U.S.

- Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

OH, DANG!!! I FINALLY got my wife to agree and now you have decided to not sell it.talasiga wrote:You peolple are just not taking me seriously at all.

Now I will have to go buy a full set of Gold Copelands as a consolation gift to myself. Quite disappointing.

All is not lost - I never said I wouldn't barter!
Yes, I'll seriously consider any reasonable swap for the Bb.
I'll even throw in a copy of Sarvapelli Bhoopacharya Panday's latest manual,
"108 Ways to Upset IT Musicians".

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!talasiga wrote:You peolple are just not taking me seriously at all.

Yes, my Generation Bb whistle is for sale again. The price has gone up - nothing less than $5000 american. Now I know that some of you must be thinking it bizarre that I would dare to sell anything here seeing as I have more than 20 posts to my credit, but the thing is I am desperate.
I am trying to save up for a fully keyed Bb flute. The other thing is this:-
I now have a Syn Whistle Bb with a lancewood head and she just won't tolerate another Bb lolling about the place.
(It is now pretty patent to me that Bb is just not a pagan key!)

Hey there boyo -
You want to visit Ireland now do you???
Here I am in a very wet southwest of Ireland
wanting to visit someplace which is
warm and dry like Australia!!
Now isn't that a bit of a coincidence?
Why, by all that holy,
would you want to visit Ireland now??
Isn't it now called the Rip-Off capital of Europe.
Two cups of tea in a cafe would buy you
one of those generaation whistles.
They'd nearly charge you for breathing the air.
If its music you are after, you might just get
an odd session in the west of Clare
or nearer my country in Dingle.
But the cost of lubricating your whistle
is a matter to discuss beforehand with
the bank manager and might require
a mortgage.
Can I suggest the USA
for Irish music and cheaper prices!!
There is a better Irish music scene
in Chicago than in Cahersiveen,
in New York than in New Ross,
in Boston than in Bantry,
in Texas than in Thurles.
Your whistle isn't made of
Australian gold now,
by any chance is it??

Wow! I get special attention. If only it had been a C, D, Eb, F, or G. Any time I reach for a Bb a certain someone on the board is bound to reach for his big Highland jobby.talasiga wrote:I never said I wouldn't barter!
