When the Rev. Quinn says he plays the regulators by ear, he's not kidding!

Cool! I recently heard a rumor that David often plays the pipes standing up! It's true then!

He also plays them in a whole manner of interesting positions. A video is currently being made to help illustrate this... funding is being saught to help pay for the project and to get it onto DVD to allow scene skipping etc. If you would like to help this all come to fruition please send me an email at pat@uilleannobsession.com so we can discuss it further and I can tell you where to send your cheque.

NB: Rich people only please.

Well, the plain truth is that I was in the orient, learning the mysterious arts that have given me the power to cloud men's minds.

As for the video, if you want to learn the piping position I call "Praying Mantis Devours its Mate," the video is the only way it can be done without spending 10 years under the cruel tutelage of Master Pai Mei.

I see by your new avatar that you have seen the, "Why skydiving was outlawed in India" pic before! One of my all-time favourite misinterpretations.

Nothing half so cruel as the tutelage of Evil Betty and his minion, the King of the Brown-nipple People.

While in the orient, the mysterious Diem Qwin was strongly influenced in his studies of obscure reed pipes and the minutia of their making and playing, by the Grand Master Fu Ling Yu.

Master Hu Rei say: "If the shortest distance between two points is a line, why does waiting in one take so long?"

Oh boy! Now we're descending into dumb mock-Chinese jokes.

Perhaps when he was in the Orient he may have tried to learn Drunken Style Kung Fu. This style originated in the city of Mei King, and was called Wu Pei. Apparently the practitioners had a very good time.

There is a serious message here, djm. I recommend you orient yourself accordingly, or go underground. None of this Wu Pei Du trivial kind of superficiality, please. Only those acquainted with the teachings of Wae Ting Ch'ant Du would probably understand the deeper concerns professed by Master Hu Rai.
