Seeing mixed dating these days with South Asians is still so weird to see for me sometimes. I spent several months on two trips in India when I was a teen and some of the girls were SO beautiful but dating was out of the question.. (fades to Eric Burden singing When I was Young)... I reached a point where I considered it was perverse pleasure on the part of God to make these beautiful creatures then throw a metaphoric (and real) wall around 'em just to punish me for looking. The boys there just hung around with each other a little too much, they were obviously VERY frustrated as well...

Then they go into arranged marriages so romance isn't much a part of the equation, even with their beautiful bloom of youth..The Karnataka girls down in Bangalore...oooh lala...I mean, you couldn't even talk to 'em unless properly introduced with a chaperone present at all times....

But then...Its Always (About) Me.....

Yeah.... but this is one is doing a Masters degree in Gender and Peace Building at UPEACE. She's one tough cookie! Her mom is a doctor and runs an NGO in Nepal fighting against human trafficking. Times they are a changing....

Yeah.... I wish I had a better picture. This girl is so beautifil I basically couldn't talk to her for the first six months.... then things got better.
